In the hour that you wish to vocalize the glorious name, which is engraved above with its vowels, adorn yourself and seek solitude [התבודד / *hitboded*] in a special place, where your voice will not be heard by others. | א. בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁתִּרְצֶה לְהַזְכִּיר אֶת הַשֵּׁם הַנִּכְבָּד הַזֶּה הֶחָקוּק לְמַעְלָה בְּנִקּוּדוֹ, קַשֵּׁט עַצְמְךָ וְהִתְבּוֹדֵד בְּמָקוֹם מְיֻחָד, שֶׁלֹּא יִשָּׁמַע קוֹלְךָ לְזוּלָתְךָ. | | 2. And purify your mind and soul from all thoughts of this world. And imagine that at this time, your soul departs from your body. And you die in this world, and become alive in the world to come, which is the source of all life that is dispersed among all living creatures. | ב. וְטַהֵר לִבְּךָ וְנַפְשְׁךָ מִכָּל מַחְשְּׁבוֹת הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה. וַחֲשֹׁב שֶׁבְּאוֹתָהּ שָׁעָה תִּפָּרֵד נַפְשְׁךָ מִגּוּפְךָ. וְתָמוּת מִן הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, וְתִחְיֶה לָעוֹלָם הַבָּא, אֲשֶׁר הוּא מְקוֹר הַחַיִּים הַנִּמְצָאִים הַמְפֻזָּרִים בְּכָל חָי. | | 3. And this is the intellect (שכל / *sekhel*), which is the source of all wisdom, understanding and consciousnesses. | ג. וְהוּא הַשֵּׂכֶל שֶׁהוּא מְקוֹר כָּל חָכְמָה וּבִינָה וָדַעַת. | | 4. And it appears in the form of the queen of queens, before whom all stand in great awe. And behold, the awe of one who understands is twofold, for it is the awe of ascension and the awe of love. | ד. וְהוּא בִּדְמוּת מֶלֶךְ מְלָכִים אֲשֶׁר הַכֹּל יְרֵאִים מִמֶּנּוּ יִרְאָה גְדוֹלָה מְאֹד. וְהִנֵּה יִרְאַת הַמַּשִּׂיג הִיא כְפוּלָה שֶׁהִיא יִרְאַת מַעֲלָה וְיִרְאַת אַהֲבָה. | | 5. And when your awareness [דעתך] comes to cleave to the awareness [דעת] of s/he who bestows upon you awareness, you must remove from your awareness the weight of all other identities [הדעות הזרות], leaving only hir awareness - shared by you and s/he - through the power of hir glorious and awesome name. | ה. וּכְשֶׁבָּאָה דַעְתְּךָ לְהִדָּבֵק בְּדַעְתּוֹ הַנּוֹתֶנֶת בְּךָ דַּעַת, צְרִיכָה דַעְתְּךָ לְהָסִיר מֵעָלֶיהָ עֹל כָּל הַדֵּעוֹת הַזָּרוֹת, זוּלַת דַּעְתּוֹ הַמְשֻׁתֶּפֶת בֵּינְךָ וּבֵינוֹ עַל פִּי שְׁמוֹ הַנִּכְבָּד וְהַנּוֹרָא. | ![[In the Hour - Stages]]
